Lea M. smith

Growing up in a family that is rich in fine arts has been a blessing that I am able to share with my clients. My family consists of illustrators, graphic designers, musicians, engravers, as well as a tattoo artist. This life experience helped me foster a deep sense of respect for a craft that has been around for many centuries. Even with 30+ years of licensed tattoo experience it is important for me to make each tattoo the best tattoo.

Billy M.

Being originally from Florida, Billy M. made Rowan County his home in 1987. After graduation from North Rowan High School, he joined the U.S Army. Upon leaving the military, Billy worked different jobs searching for his ‘career’. Fast forward several years, he is a husband, father of two and working at his dream job. Unfortunately, an unexpected medical condition occurred injuring his brain thus ending his career. After much therapy, healing and time, it was suggested to him by his physician that he try painting as therapy. Having never painted before, he was quite skeptical. However, the doctor assured him it did not matter what it looked like. He just wanted him to try. Two years later, Billy spends most of his days painting, thankful for the gift that came from his injury.

Shannon quick art

On Exhibit September 22 - November 1, 2021

I am a full time artist in Salisbury and I operate ‘The Pink Robot’, a part of ‘Grievous Gallery’. I have featured other artists as well as been fortunate enough to host several musicians, the last ones being deeply loved ‘Mama Tried’. If you’re a local look out for my monthly ‘Paint n’ Pints’ where I teach and help you realize your own artistic abilities. My entire life has been spent creating things as I did not grow up with material things so I had to learn to make them. Skateboards, bikes, motorcycles, VW’s, and art-I can work on and create. This is why it is important to me that art be affordable, as even though I did not grow up with money, I did grow up with an amazing role model and father, Buck Quick. He taught me many things in life, including to be a man of integrity and to not take any shit. That being said, he also taught me that life isn’t about money but rather experiences. I feel my art is a direct extension of myself, my imagination, and experiences. So when you own a piece of my art, you own a piece of me. I have been featured in many shows, articles, won awards, and am lucky enough to do what I love daily. It helps my mental state to create daily, rather it be doing a commissioned piece, a skateboard, or a painting so feel free to reach out to me with requests. Most of all just enjoy art & maybe even create some yourself. It makes this world more beautiful.

Our Opening Exhibit, August 8 - September 21, 2021

"Well isn't that a haughty statement?"

It is and it isn't. I have been creating for as long as I can remember. Painting, drawing, assembling, collating, arranging....just putting "stuff" together with other "stuff" to make something visual.

I've studied and taught, engineering, architecture and art.

I got back into art in the early 2k's by starting with the basics. Pen and inks as well as water colour. Mostly of what was ticking away in my head at the moment.

I then morphed into acrylic based impressionism to get a feel for the experience again.

A huge hunk of time in the middle of the decade was devoted to what I call "Abstract Aboriginalism" using dots of paint to inspire thought about indigenous peoples from around the world.

Currently I am working on Abstract Expressionist pieces that are multi-layerd and complex.

Honestly, I do what's in my head and needs to get out....we really don't want me to internalize it....
